About HaRP

Our Mission

To help achieve USAID's strategic objectives to identify, develop, and test new/refined tools, technologies, approaches, policies and/or interventions to improve the health status of infants, children, mothers, and families in developing countries.

Our Activities

The research, introduction and capacity-building activities undertaken by the Country Research Activity (CRA) are determined through a USAID priority-setting process that involves the CRA. These activities will be responsive to USAID strategic objectives and priorities and potentially be accomplished within a five-year time frame. As appropriate, the CRA activities will coordinate with the Global Research Activity (GRA) and other collaborating partners in research, introduction and implementation activities. CRA will also work with host governments, non-governmental organizations, World Health Organization and other bodies that establish consensus and undertake relevant country specific health research and introductory activities.
The activities include:

  • Strategic planning, problem identification and priority setting, and monitoring of investments in research and its introduction into use
  • Conducting coordinated and collaborative research to develop new and refined tools, technologies, approaches, policies, and/or interventions
  • Facilitating the translation and introduction of a select number of key research products into use
